Luca Berti. Mennesket og havet

The exhibitions are a result of the project "Man and the Sea." Haugalandmuseet invited the photographer Luca Berti to conduct a photo documentation project on Feøy, Røvær, Utsira, and Vibrandsøy, capturing both people and landscapes.

The photography took place during the spring and fall of 2023, and the results are now presented in two photography art exhibitions, one at the Haugesund Art Gallery and the other at Mikal Klovnings Seaside House on Utsira.

"Photography is a lifestyle, and the project 'Man and Nature' has become my life project," says Luca Berti. The Italian-Danish photographer is already a familiar name to many in the country. For years, he has cycled around our vast country capturing images. He has also photographed and exhibited his work in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Latvia, and Italy. Berti exclusively works with analog cameras, exploring the relationship between the present and the past, human beings, and landscapes.

In conjunction with the project, a beautiful photography art book featuring Luca Berti's photographs, literary texts by author and poet Odd Eirik Sætre Færevåg, and an English summary will be released at the price of NOK 390.

The exhibition project is developed in collaboration with Luca Berti and kindly supported by the Knutsen Group.

Opening at Mikal Klovnings Seaside House, Utsira, Saturday, May 25th, at 14:00.

The artist Luca Berti will be present to talk about his work. The exhibition will be opened by the mayor of Utsira, Marte Klovning. Cake and coffee will be served for all courtesy of Joker-butikken. Everyone is welcome!

The exhibition will be open throughout the summer of 2024.

Museum Trip to Utsira

In connection with the opening on Utsira, the Friends of Haugalandmuseet are organizing a museum trip for all interested parties. Departure from Garpaskjærskaien in Haugesund on Saturday, May 25th, at 10:30, and return to Haugesund at 16:30.
